I'm a totally blind ASU graduate. I'm still trying to figure out where life will lead me at
this point, but I enjoy as much of my life as I can.
I was born premature, and I became blind from receiving too much oxygen in the hospital. I
have been blind all my life, but I don't feel angry or sad because of it. I believe physical sight is really nice to have, but it isn't a mandatory part of life.
Music is my main forte (no pun intended). I have been playing piano since I was 3 years old. I can play music by ear, and I have perfect pitch. I sometimes play classical music, but my favorite styles are Broadway show tunes, folk songs, Disney songs and classic rock like the Beatles. I perform in nursing homes and some private events, including weddings and a few dinner parties. I also play every week for the Lions Club I belong to. I've been told I am very talented! I'm grateful for this God-given talent, but I'm still trying to figure out how large a part it will play in my life.
As far as interests, I enjoy going shopping and to restaurants, and I love going on the Internet and playing computer games. Music and movies are always fun, especially when someone is there to describe the movie action for me. I love watching Broadway musicals, and vacations that involve shopping and sightseeing are always fun for me.
I've been told I have a great sense of humor, and I enjoy creating a relaxed atmosphere around me. I am happiest when life is moving along at a slow and relaxed pace. I enjoy talking with people and making new friends
